The CORE Christmas in My Heart series contains 25 books. All are horizontal trade paper sporting classic Currier & Ives illustrations on covers, with timeless woodcuts inside. All covers correlate in every respect, even though printed by two publishers. This series contains all the stories in the longest-running Christmas story series in America. If you secure all 25 books, you have a complete set, except for three stories that are in Focus on the Family / Tyndale House hardback versions of Christmas in My Heart 13 and 15.
In 1995, Doubleday approached us asking if they could republish the CORE series. The condition was that the stories would have to be scrambles taken at random from Christmas in My Heart 1-10. The results were stunning, with heirloom dust jacketed vertical hardbacks sporting all “new” woodcut illustrations. So different from the CORE books that many Christmas collectors want them too. Keep in mind that these stories are gathered from only the first 10 of the current 25 books in the CORE series. They published two mini-series (pictured on right)
Focus on the Family also wanted hardback rights for themselves, but we could not permit this until 2000, when Doubleday switched to the Christmas in My Soul series. Beginning in 2000, Focus on the Family / Tyndale House instituted a beautiful series of vertical dust-jacketed hardbacks sporting the same stories and illustrations as the original CORE series. Collectors have always loved these works of art. These hardback books include Christmas in My Heart 8 – 15. (These hardback books include Christmas in My Heart 9 – 15; Christmas in My Heart 8 is vertical trade paper.)
